DIED. MORTON - Monday, Oct. 17, at the residence of his son-in-law, Mr. Jno. A. Robertson, near Chestnut Grove, this county, Hiram B. Morton, aged 66. Interment Wednesday Oct. 19th, in the Grove Hill Cemetery. Services at the grave by Eld. B. F. Hungerford.
Mr. Morton was one of the solid, substantial farmers of the county, and a man much respected for his many good qualities of head and heart. He had been twice married, first to a daughter of Mr. Allen Robertson and after her death to a Miss Shepherd, who with one child, Mrs. Jno A. Robertson, survives him. Mr. Morton belonged to the old school Baptists. (Shelby Sentinel, Oct. 20, 1887)
