Hunter Lee Boggs, passed away on Tuesday, May 8, 2012, at his home following a long illness.

Born on November 28, 1929, in Ivydale, WV, he was the son of the late Eugene Boggs and Christine Sirk Boggs.

Hunter had several occupations in his life, but was a devoted West Virginia Division of Natural Resources State Park Superintendent at Hawks Nest and Grandview State Parks with 31 years of service. He spent five years as a maintenance supervisor for the New River Gorge National Park, retiring in 1995.

He was a member of the Grandview Christian Church.

Hunter is survived by his wife, Vera "Tubby" Perrine Boggs of Daniels, his children Mike Boggs and his wife Wylene of Macon, GA.; Pam Phipps and her husband Jerry of Lebanon, OH; Toni Lee and her husband Dr. Gary Lee of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL.; Greg Boggs and his wife Joni of Stuart, FL. Grandsons, Andy and Meagan Boggs of Franklin, TN; Justin and Erin Boggs of Marietta, GA; Steven Boggs of Macon, GA; Zack Lee of Gainesville, FL. Granddaughters, Whitney and Justin Fantozzi of Huron, OH; Holley Ann Phipps of Cincinnati, OH; Ali Boggs of New York City, NY; Annie Boggs of Gainesville, FL; and Sydney Lee of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL; and three precious great-granddaughters, Isabella, Marilena, and Lucia Fantozzi, of Huron, OH. Two brothers, Bob Boggs and his wife Ruth of Elkview, WV, and Donald "Todd" Boggs and his wife Vera Lou of Nitro, WV. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be conducted to Celebrate The Life of Hunter Lee Boggs on Friday, May 11, 2012, at 11 a.m. at the Grandview Christian Church, Table Rock Rd., Beaver, WV, with Pastor Terry Newton, Oscar Schwitzerlette, and Jordan Legg officiating. Burial will follow at the Boggs Cemetery at Big Otter, W.Va., in Clay County. He will be laid to rest beside his mother and dad, and brothers Johnny and Jack.

Friends may call at the church two hours prior to the services on Friday.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Hunter's name to the Grandview Christian Church or to Hospice of Southern WV, P.O. Box 1472, Beckley, WV.

The family would like to thank the Hospice Nurses, especially Tammy, Beth, Diane, and Vicki. Also to Best Ambulance employees and Fresenius Dialysis of Beckley.
