NEWPORT NEWS - William Dunn, age 76, a native of Walterboro, S.C., and a Newport News resident since 1951, died May 4, 1995.

Mr. Dunn retired in 1961 from the Norfolk Naval Shipyard and from the city of Newport News in 1982. He was a member of Grace Baptist Church, an associate member of Virginia Sheriffs Institute and a former member of the American Law Enforcement Officers Association. He was a veteran of World War II.

Survivors include his wife, Gladys Dunn; one daughter, Doris Johnson of Saluda, Va.; two sisters, Lizzie Seigler of Round-O, S.C. and Anne Dunn of Mount Pleasant, S.C.; two brothers, Eugene Dunn of Walterboro, S.C., and Albert Dunn of Walterboro, S.C.; one granddaughter and one great-granddaughter.

Visitation will be Friday, May 5, 1995, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Peninsula Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday at Peninsula Funeral Home by Rev. Kenneth Dudley. Burial will follow in Peninsula Memorial Park.
