ROCK RAPIDS, Iowa — Dessie Kahl, 78, died Thursday, March 5, 1992, in her home after a long illness.
Dessie Arnold was born March 30, 1913, in Rock Rapids.
She married Harold Kahl on Aug 9, 1930 in Sioux Falls, SD. They farmed in the Rock Rapids area until they retired in 1968.
Her husband died in 1985.
She was active in making ceramics and crochet crafts.
Survivors include one son, Will of Hallsville, Texas; two daughters: Mrs Floyd (LaVonne) Miller of Leon, Iowa, and Mrs Henry (Delores) Schwebach of Granville, Iowa; 15 grandchildren; one brother, Howard of Braham, Minn.; and two sisters: Julia Bex of Aurora, Minn., and Blanch Amundson of Corpus Cristi, Texas.
Services will be at 2 pm Monday in Roste Funeral Home, Rock Rapids, with burial in Riverview Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 10 am to 9 pm Sunday in the funeral home, with family present from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm Sunday.
Memorials may be directed to the Greater Sioux County Hospice.
