A Lexington factory worker died Saturday morning from gunshot wounds received in a hunting accident near the Christian Chapel community in Henderson County. The victim, Charlie Barker, 34, of Lexington died at 8 o'clock in the Lexington-Henderson County Hospital, about an hour after the accident. He and his friend had gone squirrel hunting in the Christian Chapel community. According to reports of the accident, Renfroe's gun accidently fired when he stumbled. The shot struck Mr. Barker in the leg, causing severe bleeding.

Funeral services will be held this afternoon at 3 o'clock from the New Haven Church of Christ with Loyce Pearce, minister, officiating. Burial will be in the Lewis Cemetery in Henderson County with Smith Funeral Home in charge.

Mr. Barker was born November 25, 1925 in Reagan, Tennessee and had lived near Lexington for the past 14 years. He was an employee of the Brown Shoe Company and was a member of the New Haven Church of Christ.

He was married November 9, 1946 to Mary Lewis of Wildersville and she survives him. Other survivors include a son, Ricky Charles Barker; a daughter, Linda Kay Barker; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. E. H. Barker of Reagan; a brother, Guy Barker of Reagan; four sisters, Mrs. Bertha Brantley, Mrs. Gertha Climer and Mrs. Cora MIddleton, all of the Reagan community, and Mrs. Millie Boothe of Chicago.

His body will be at the residence of James Lewis near Parkers Cross Roads until the funeral hour.
