Paul was one of the youngest children born to Elisha Woodward Leatherwood and Asenath Narcissa Payne. He married Julia Lorena Larson 24 Oct 1920 in Lone Tree, Victoria County, Texas. He was the father of six children, four of whom lived to adulthood.
