Stelloh, Amalia (13 JAN 1851 – 13 MAR 1913)
Mrs. Henry Stelloh died at her home southwest of this city Thursday morning, March 13th, 1913, after a short time of illness.
She was born in Saxony, Germany on Jan. 13, 1851, her maiden name being Amalia Immisch. While yet a little child of 6mos old, Her parents August and Wilhelmina Imisch, came to America. They located first in Racine County, Mr. Imisch afterwards taking a farm in Milwaukee County, which he developed from a primitive condition.
In April 1870 she was joined in marriage to Mr. Henry Stelloh. After having resided in and around Milwaukee for more than twenty years, they decided to move to Clark County, and arrived here in Feb. 1894, buying a farm in Pine Valley, which has been their home since.
Nine children were born to them: Mrs. Anna Mueller and Henry Stelloh, residents of Milwaukee, and the following, who live here in Neillsville, Fred, Mrs. Emma Zank, Conrad, Edward, Ella, Clara and George. Besides her husband and children, there are also left to mourn her departure 15 grandchildren, four sisters and one brother.
The deceased was a kind and noble woman, quiet and unassuming in manner, splendor and extravagance being unknown to her. She yet understood the noble art of making her life beautiful by living for others. Stricken with her last illness she proved a patient and hopeful sufferer, and fully appreciated all that was done for her to make her sufferings easier to bear. The Angel of Death had issued the summons and on Thursday morning she was folded into the arms of her Heavenly Father. The largely attended funeral services were held last Sunday, Rev. Schmid officiating. Amid universal expressions of sympathy and many floral tributes, the departed was silently laid to rest in the Neillsville Cemetery.
Relatives from away who were here to attend the funeral were: Mr. and Mrs. Magnus Mueller, Miss Minnie Mueller, Mrs. Emily Stelloh, Mrs. Anna Schultz and Mrs. and Mrs. Henry Stelloh, all of Milwaukee.
