J. F. Dowdy Passes Away At Kingston. County Resident for Half-Century Buried Saturday.

J. Frank Dowdy, Marshall county resident for more than fifty years, died at his home in Kingston last Friday, following a lengthy illness.

Mr. Dowdy was born Mar. 27, 1880 at Alexandria, Tex. He was a member of the Church of Christ.

Funeral services were held Saturday at the Watts Funeral Chapel in Madill, Saturday with M. U. Ayres in charge. Music was furnished by the Ayres family, all old friends of Mr. Dowdy. Burial was in the Kingston cemetery.

Mr. Dowdy is survived by his wife, Mrs. Ella Lee Dowdy, five children, Frank Jr., Albuquerque, N.M.; Mrs. Oma Mutz, Wichita Falls, Tex., Mrs. G. L. McKay, Brazoria, Tex., Mrs. Hazel Balthrop, Madill and Jackie, Kingston.

Other survivors include three brothers, Jim Dowdy of Madill, Hall Dowdy who lives in California and Arthur Dowdy, of Mill Creek; three sisters, Mrs. Ell Maberry, Oklahoma City, Mrs. Della White, and Mrs. Beulah Gorell, Kingston, and five grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Monroe Barwick, Montie Blakeley, Sid Willis, Lee Martin, Will Jones, and Dick French.
