Jesse Anton Hubenak of El Campo died May 4, 2012 at the age of 72. He was born May 5, 1939 in Wharton County to the late Anton and Cecilia Rod Hubenak. He worked for Superior Motor Parts for 50 years, retiring as the parts manager. He was an Army Veteran, a member of the American Legion Post 251, the Knights of Columbus #2490, and was a 39 year member of the El Campo Volunteer Fire Dept.
He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Verline Baca Hubenak of Wharton, son Dwayne Hubenak and wife Liza of Corpus Christi, sister Lillian Kohleffel and husband Allan of Wharton, brothers Donald Hubenak of wife Theresa of Alvin, Wilfred Hubenak and wife Diane of Pierce, Michael Hubenak of San Antonio, grandchildren Stacy and Ashley Hubenak, and Myra and Juan Zapata all of Corpus Christi. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Lonnie Hubenak.
Visitation will begin 2:00 pm Sunday at Triska Funeral Home. A KC Rosary will be offered 1:30 pm Monday, May 7, 2012, at St. Philip Catholic Church followed by the Funeral Mass at 2:00 pm with Reverend Albert Yankey officiating. Graveside services with Military Honors under the auspices of the American Legion Post 251 will follow at Holy Cross Memorial Park.
Serving as pallbearers are Jimmy George, Jr., Michael Giesalhart, Gerald Ripple, Pat Fass, Jason Fass and John Faas. Honorary bearers will be the El Campo Volunteer Fire Dept.
Memorial donations may be made to the El Campo Volunteer Fire Dept. or to the donor's choice.
