Julia was the daughter of John Bradley and his wife, Annie, last name unknown, a full-blooded Indian woman. She married Rev. Michael E. Vail, son of Jeremiah Vail and Mary Funderburk. Julia's sister, Mary Bradley, married Jeremiah Vail, Sr., son of John Michael Vail and Rachel Funderburk. Jeremiah and John Michael were twins (b. 1792) and Mary and Rachel were sisters, daughters of Jacob Funderburk and granddaughters of Hans Devauld Funderburk and Catherine Laney Funderburk.
