Deceased Name: Olive F. Monson
Olive F. Monson, 90, of Bay City, passed away Monday, Sept. 25, 2006, at the Bay Regional Medical Center.

Frances Olive, the daughter of Alphonse and Jennie Berthiaume, was born on Sept. 7, 1916, in Standish. She graduated from St. Michael High School in Pinconning in 1933. She had been employed with AC Spark Plug in Flint and Valley Supply for 25 years.

She married Jake Eicher; he predeceased her in 1958.

She then married Nelson Monson on Oct. 18, 1974, in Our Lady of the Visitation Catholic Church; he predeceased her in 1989.

Olive was a perpetual member of the League of Catholic Women and Men and was treasurer for 31 years. She was also a member of St. Hedwig Catholic Church and its Altar Society, the Rosary Society, Kiesel-Pearls, the Felician Auxiliary, UAW Local 362 Retirees and Area Four Union.

Olive is survived by four stepchildren, Janice (Jack) Szafranski of Linwood, Marlene (Sam) Bishop of Pinconning, Ron (Carol) Monson of Midland and Terry (Sue) Monson of Gladwin; 19 step-grandchildren; 34 step-great-grandchildren; one sister, Betty (Al) Wynn of Warren; two brothers, Leo and Jack (Lois) Berthiaume; one sister-in-law, Beauty Berthiaume; one brother-in-law, Bill Jasura; and several nieces and nephews, including special niece, Ava Berthiaume. Besides her parents and husbands, Olive was predeceased by her sister, Rita Jasura; and three brothers, Floyd, Robert and Charles Berthiaume.

The Funeral Liturgy will take place Friday, Sept. 29, 2006, 10:30 a.m. at St. Hedwig Catholic Church. The Rev. Fr. Kevin N. Kerbawy will officiate, with Rite of Committal in St. Michael Cemetery, Pinconning.

Friends may cll at the Stapish Cederberg Funeral Home West, 805 E. South Union St., Bay City, on Thursday from 2 to 8 p.m., where a Vigil for the Deceased will take place at 7 p.m. under the direction of Sr. Joann Plumpe OP. Olive will lie in state at the church on Friday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of mass.
