Lauriston Dale Buddy Hite, 79, of Ona, WV, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Thursday, November 20, 2008, at Morris Memorial Nursing Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, November 23, 2008, at the Wallace Funeral Home, Milton, W.Va., by Pastor Bill Davis and Pastor Daniel Beaver. Burial will be in White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursille. He was born July 2, 1929, in Cabell County, WV, and attended schools in Huntington. Dale then served in the United States Navy sailing with Admiral Byrd to the South Pole on an Antarctica exedition. He was an electric motor winder by trade and retired from the Central Machine Shop with AEP. He was preceded in death by parents, Harry and Anna Weed Hite; one brother, Avery Hite, three sisters, Zelma Decker, Norma Johnson, and Jeanette Porter. Dale is survived by and will be greatly missed by his loving wife of 61 years, Betty Stewart Hite; one brother, Arden Hite; two sisters, Frances Nelson and Bernice Roberts; three daughters and sons-in-law, Shelley (Gary) Weatherholt of Ashland, KY, Terry (Charles) Johnson of Culloden, WV, Lesley (Mitch) Mitchell of Danville, WV; two sons and daughters-in-law, Duane (Stephanie) Hite of Huntington, WV, Darrell (Cecilia) Hite of Allen, TX; eleven grandchildren, Eric Weatherholt, Kyle Weatherholt, Kim Weatherholt, Michael Johnson, Stephanie Johnson, Summer Shepard, Travis White, Cory Mitchell, Tyson Mitchell, Carey Hite, Dustin Hite and all their spouses; eight great grandchildren and many loving brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors. He attended Antioch Baptist Church. Memorial contributions may be made to Antioch Baptist Church or to Hospice of Huntington, Box 464, Huntington, WV, 25709. Visitation will be after 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the Wallace Funeral Home, Milton.
