Mr. Hislop was born at Burlingame and spent most of his life in the Burlingame and Topeka communities. He was an Air Force veteran of World War II and had been a prisoner of war.
Mr. Hislop was employed by Ed Marling's Furniture Stores for 28 years and was currently manager of the North Topeka store.
He was a member of Moose Lodge No. 555 and American Legion Capitol Post No. 1 at Topeka.
Mr. Hislop was preceded in death by his step father, Chester A. Watkinson and a brother, Chester Samuel Watkinson; and a step-sister, Mrs. Marie Whalen.
He was married to Grace Hoofer December 16, 1977. She survives. Other survivors include his mother, Mrs. Chester A. Watkinson, Burlingame; a step-daughter, Mrs. Robert Tindell, Burlingame; a step-son, Alex Grieves, Topeka; a sister, Mrs. Roberta Yancey, Tulsa, Oklahoma; four grandchildren, Mrs. Lynn Barnes, Mrs. Donna Schooler, Kevin Grieves and Brad Grieves; two great-grandchildren, Mathieu Barnes and Nicole Schooler.
