John F. Ramminger, 81, formerly of the Greenwood area, died at 10:20 A.M., Tuesday, February 13, 1979 AT Norlite Nursing Home in Marquette, Michigan.

Funeral services were held at 10:3 a.m. Saturday at St. Louis Catholic Church in Dorchester. Rev. James Schafer officiating and burial was in the Pine Hill Cemetery at Curtiss.

Maurina Funeral Home in Dorchester was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Ramminger was born July 6, 1897 in the Town of Mayville, Clark County and attended Brady School there.

His first marriage was to Wilhelmina Hoffman on May 18, 1921. His second marriage was to Ida Gayken Bowen in Stillwater, Minnesota. She died in March 1964. From 1948 – 1951 he operated a blacksmith shop in Curtiss. He farmed on Route 3, Greenwood from 1951 – 1973, then lived with his daughter at Curtiss until two years ago, when he moved to Michigan.

Survivors include one son, John of K.I. Sawyer AFB, Gwinn, Michigan; one daughter, Mrs. Edwin (Marjorie) Krause of Curtiss; one sister, Miss Mary Ramminger, Menlo Park, California; three brothers, Henry of Waterloo, Herbert of Seattle, Washington, and Arthur of Abbotsford; 13 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Caroline, in 1973; on brother and one great-grandchild.
