F.P. Bushnell died at home west of town, Monday evening, April 23rd, following about a week of illness with pneumonia.

Franklin Pierce Bushnell was born Sept. 4th, 1857 in Dakota Co. Nebraska. of English Descent. At the time of his death he was 49 years, 7 months and 18 days of age. His parents were among the earliest settlers of that country, his father being an Indian trader and stock raiser. His boyhood days were spent on the Western Frontier Farm. At the age of 18 he became a traveling salesman, traveling widely until at the age of 35, he married Miss Julia True of Canton, S.D. Thereafter they resided at Bone Lake, Wis., with the exception of about a year spent at Madison.

In August, 1912, he came with his family of wife and three small daughters, to make a home in the Hill Lake Country, where he lived until the time of his death.

Always an ambitious man, his greatest ambition was for his home where his heart was always centered. He was a sunny, jovial disposition with a smile for all and a generous heart and helping hand for those who needed it. Although always hopeful and a hardworking man, he does not leave to his children a great accumulation of this earth's treasures, but a far greater heritage, a bright example of a noble and well spent life.

The funeral took place at the home Thursday morning at ten o'clock. Rev. O. Suver officiating. A choir of three voices furnished the music. The remains were laid to rest in Hill Lake Cemetery being escorted to the grave by a goodly number of friends and relatives.

Those left to mourn for him are his widow and five children as follows: Bonnie, age 13, Isla, age, 9, Beatrice, age 7, James, age 4, and Marion, age2. One son Francis was drowned when four years old at Bone Lake, about six years ago.
