An Old Settler Gone
Our citizens were surprised and pained this morning to hear that Mr. Hugo Hald, one of our oldest and most respected citizens was dead. Mr. Hald came to Grand Island nearly eighteen years ago and has made his home here since that time. During his stay among us he has held several places of trust which he filled capably, being elected sheriff some years ago, and has held the office of city engineer for several years and was holding this office at the time of his death. As near as we are able to learn, his death was caused by an overdose of morphine, which he took to quiet his nerves. He leaves a wife and several children.
