Frances Louise Bollman, 86, of Albany died Thursday at Samaritan Albany General Hospital.

Frances was born in Quincy, Mass., to John Edward and Myrtle Olive (Swift) Sullivan. She grew up in the Boston area and attended Quincy schools in the Boston suburbs.

Frances received her nurses training at Massachusetts General Hospital. She worked in Florida, Honduras, Saskatchewan and Alaska, where she met her husband, Dean Henry Bollman. They were married Sept., 20, 1955, in Juneau. They lived in Aurora, Ill., for a time before moving to Corvallis, and then Albany.

Frances devoted her time to raising her family. She was an avid reader and a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church.

Frances is survived by her children, David J. Bollman of Seattle, Wash., Kathleen Bowman of Albany, Michael A. Bollman of Bellfountain, James N. Bollman of Salem and Dorothy Bollman of Springfield; and six grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; and only brother John E. “Jackie” Sullivan, who died with the sinking of the Meredith at Guadalcanal in 1942.
