WELL KNOWN GREENE MAN DIES AT THE HOME OF HIS SON IN LEEDS.
Greene, July 24-- The death of Francis E. Howe Sunday afternoon was a shock to his friends. While Mr. Howe has been in poor health for many years, and has slowly failed all summer yet his death came suddenly Sunday of heart failure.
He was born in Leeds, February 3, 1843, the son of Cyprian S. and Mary B. (Graffam) Howe. When a small boy his parents moved to Greene where he lived until a year and a half ago when he moved to Leeds. He was married December 24, 1863 to Eleanor C. Pettingill of Leeds and to this union five children were born, four whom are living, the oldest daughter, Oretta died about thirty-two years ago.
Mrs. Howe died August 31, 1895 since which time Mr. Howe has been in poor health. He has made his home with his son, Ralph, where he has been kindly cared for. Besides his four children, Mrs. F. L. Additon, Mrs. M. A. Bubier, Ralph P. and Eva M. Howe, he leaves three brothers and several grandchildren to mourn his loss. The interment will be at the Quaker cemetery in Leeds.
