Douglas George Lloyd Jr., 30, of Hutchinson, Kansas, passed away at his home after a battle with leukemia. He was diagnosed with the disease Dec. 5, 2003.
Son of Douglas George Sr. and Nancy Lynn Wilcox Lloyd.
He graduated from Girard High School in 1992.
He was a Certified Fire Fighter I & II, Fire Officer I & II, Drive-Operator, Instructor I & II, Haz-Mat Operations and EMT.
He was a cadet firefighter at age 15, and regular volunteer fire-fighter/part time driver for Girard Fire Department at age 18. He worked as a reserve police officer for Girard Police, was an EMT for Crawford County EMS/Rescue, and worked as a firefighter-EMT for Parsons and Cherryvale fire departments. He was a fire lieutenant-driver/operator-firefighter-EMT for Garden City Fire Department, a certified part-time deputy sheriff for the Finney County Sheriff's Posse and was working for Hutchinson Fire Department as a firefighter-EMT and a volunteer firefighter-EMT for Reno County Fire District 8.
One sister, Jennifer Moore of La Cygne and an honorary brother, Dustin Johnson.
