Bronner, a student at Pierce College in Woodland Hills, CA,was a member of the Chi Chi Chi fraterniy. Three of his frat brothers abducted him and dropped him in the mountains without glasses. The Chi Chi Chi members had taken Bronner out to teach him a lesson, saying he was "obnoxious". During the search for him, Bronners father, Leon, a 52 year old Polish immigrant, held out little chance for his son's safe return. He told newspapers,"My son, he was not an athlete. He was fat and raised like a momma's boy. He never walked. We always drove him." Bronner had very poor eyesight and plunged to his death off a 500-foot cliff trying to get back to campus. It took many days for rescuers to find the body.
