Oliver H. Green Dies at Warren
Warren, Feb 19. -- Oliver Howard Green, aged 71, died at 8:50 am today at his home, 169 Ohio Street, after a two-year illlness.
Mr. Green was born Oct 28, 1863 in Coitsville Township, Mahoning County, a son of John and Emma Sears Green. He had resided in Warren for 20 years and was formerly employed as a stationary engineer by the Republic Iron and Steel Co. He was a member of the Baptist Church, teaching a Sunday school class in the church, and the Odd Fellows Lodge.
He leaves his wife, Mrs. Sarah Green: two daughters, Miss Mae Green and Mrs. Grace Meadow (sic), both of Youngstown; five stepdaughters, Mrs. Alice Banks, of Cleveland; Mrs. Elmer Salzman, of Edinburg; Mrs. Jesse Brown, of Portersville, Pa.; Mrs. Wiliam Jordan of Warren; Mrs. Edward Fox, of Pittsburgh; four stepsons, Clarence Evans of Polk, Pa.; Edward Evans of Porterville, Pa; Arthur Evans, of Pittsburgh; and James Evans, of Warren; two half sisters, Miss Nettie Green, of Youngstown; and Mrs. Walter Rentz, of Poland; a brother, Jack Green, of Youngstown; a half brother, Burt Green, of Florida; and eight grandchildren.
The funeral service will be at two p.m. Thursday at the Baptist Church here, with Rev. Stanton officiating.
