Eugene "Buck" Bukaty was born and raised in Kansas City, Kansas. He graduated from Wyandotte High School in 1946. It was in high school where he met the love of his life, Marge. They were married on September 30, 1950, in Kansas City, Kansas, and were the proud parents of eight children.

Uncle Buck served in the US Army and while he was stationed in Germany, he had the honor of playing military service football at the Berlin Olympic Stadium. He graduated from Kansas City Business College, had a career as a Traffic Manager in the transportation industry, and was a member of KC's Transportation Club. Uncle Buck was very involved with St. Patrick's Catholic Church and School, serving as PTO President and member of The Green Club. His passion was coaching and attending his children's and grandchildren's sporting events. He served as President of Bishop Ward's Quarterback Club and officiated for Little League Sports.
