Chris was born in Marion, Ohio. His father had the Balsley Typewriting company in Marion for many years. As a teenager, he helped in his dad's business, fixing and repairing typewriters.
Chris tried to get the company running again after after his Dad retired and turned it over to him, but by then computers were taking over the business world so that part of his life came to a close.
Chris served in the Air Force and after that, was with the Marion County Sheriffs Department. He served for several years as a Deputy Sheriff then worked at Security Transport transporting prisoners from State to State.
After trying his hand at that he then became a Patrol Officer for OWU in Delaware, Ohio. At that point, he became sick with Graves Disease and had to apply for disablity. Then MD effected his walking and he would fall a lot his Mom had it too.
Chris loved to read books and walking in the woods and wildlife when his eye-sight weakened, he started listening to audio-books.
He loved cooking as a small child he became interested in it. When he was married, he would make his wife meals earlier in their marriage as well as make meals together.
Chris also loved to watch the cooking channel, Cops and the History Channel.
He Married His wife Kay on Jan 24 in PA they were married for 32yrs before he passed away.
They shared a lot of similar interests so they worked some jobs together They sold Land-shares together for a camp ground for a short time. Kay helped him at Security Transport, helped him drive a van and helped with the billing for the company.
At his funeral, Chris was honored with a military burial.
