John Earl Abbott, 67, of Turner's Station, Ky. died suddenly Wednesday at his residence. He was the son of the late Guy and Lizzie Ellen Sutherland Abbott.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Marie Breeden Abbott and one brother, Charles Clifton Abbott.
He is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Larry (Joyce) Pearson of Bagdad; three sons, Darrell Abbott, Pleasureville, Doug Abbott, Turner's Station, Rodney Abbott, Pleasureville; one sister, Mrs. Martha Katherine Roberts, Carrollton; two brothers, Owen Abbott, Carrollton, Guy E. Abbott, Pleasureville, and six grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Saturday at the Prewitt New Castle funeral home with burial following at New Castle Cemetery. Rev. Bob Wade, pastor of the Apostolic Pentecostal Living Church of God in Bedford, officiated. Pallbearers were Rodney Abbott, Doug Abbott, Darrell Abbott, Guy E. Abbott, Owen Abbott and Boyd Russell Berry.
