Alan Lowther "Pete" Day, Jr., 77, of Jeffersonton, died on March 22, 2012 at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center in Baltimore. He was born on January 28, 1935 in Philadelphia, PA, a son of Alan L. Day, Sr. and Mary Ridgeway Stout Day, who preceded him in death.
Mr. Day attended Episcopal High School, M.I.T., the University of Virginia and the Stonier School of Banking at Rutgers University.
He retired as Vice President and Cashier at Peoples National Bank and served on the boards of PNB, F & M Bank and BB & T. He enjoyed farming.

He is survived by his wife, Susan A. Day; and three children, Alexandra Kitterdge Day of South Yarmouth, MA, Alan L. Day III of Marshall and Gwynne Day Brown of Mathews, VA. He also leaves a brother, Charles Frederick Day of Arlington and four grandchildren, Henry K. Tufts, Austin R.S. Day, Emily L. Brown and Nicole C. Brown.

Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, March 27 at 2 PM at Warrenton Cemetery with Rev. C. Thomas Hayes officiating.
