Owen Abbott
Owen Abbott, age 71 of New Castle, died Sunday, Nov. 20, 2011, at Baptist East Hospital in Louisville. Son of the late Guy Griffith and Lizzie Ellen (Sutherland) Abbott, he was a farmer.
He is survived by four daughters: Laurie Walls and Donna Ray, both of Eminence; Tammy Clark, Campbellsburg; Doreen Walls, New Castle; one son, Timothy Abbott, Bedford; one brother, Guy E. Abbott Sr., Campbellsburg; beloved companion, Dora Abbott Ward, New Castle; five grandsons, six granddaughters, 6 great-grandsons, 4 great-grandaughters and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. today (Wednesday, Nov. 23, 2011) at Prewitt New Castle Funeral Home. Bro. Corey Beatty, pastor of Drennon Christian Church will officiate. Interment will be in New Castle Cemetery. Visitation will be held after 10 a.m. today at the funeral home.
Honorary pallbearers will be Guy E. Abbott Sr., and Arlie Sebastian.
Pallbearers will be Darrell Abbott, Rodney Abbott, Doug Abott, Larry Pearson, Boyd Russell Berry, Jerry Wayne Downey and Billy Downey.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the American Lung Assoiciation.
