James Paul "JP" Bowman passed away the morning of March 6, 2008. He was a native of Arkansas. After serving in Europe during WWII, James came to southern California where he met and married his wife, Thelma. The couple moved to Paradise in 1951.

JP was a heavy equipment operator, general contractor and rancher. Trout fishing, looking for quartz crystals and chopping firewood were among his favorite pastimes. Making wine was another pursuit. He was also a member of the Table Mountain Masonic Lodge.

Among those who survive him are his son Paul of Chico, his daughter Tammie and his granddaughter Michelle of Paradise.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, March 14th at 11:00 a.m. at the Paradise Alliance Church. Published in Paradise Post from March 10 to March 12, 2008.
