Jauquin Evelyn Bass Crawford was born March 12, 1829 in Horatio Arkansas to George and Daisy Bass. She passed April 23, 2000 at Presbyterian Hospital. Jauquin grew up in a Christian family and was active in Church from the time she was a very young child. She was a member of Allen Chapel AME Church where she wore many hats. Some of her many positions were – Director of the Youth Church. Director of vacation Bible School, class leader, Steward Pastors secretary. announcement clerk and she was a member of the Sarah Allen Missionary Society. She was also a life member of the WMS. She was a member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc and several other professional and social organizations.

Jauquin was an elementary and middle school teacher with the Oklahoma City Schools. She ended a thirty-six year career when she retired in 1995. She was married to Otha Crawford and this union brought forth five beautiful children. Deryt Marice Crawford, Angela LaVerne Crawford, Otha Leon Crawford Shoneta Lyn Crawford Jackson and Ona Jauquin Crawford McCormic. In addition to her loving off spring. Jauquin is survived by eight sisters and brothers. Theoples Bass, George Napuet Bass, Sylvester Bass and Willa Mae Bass all of Phoenix Arizona. Norma Jean Washington and Ava Bass of Reno Nevada, Thrada Keyes of Visalia California and Mary Ann Sims of Pensacola Florida. Eleven grandchildren ten great grandchildren twenty-five nieces and nephews a host of great nieces and nephews and many other relative and friends.
