Services For "Dusty" Rhoades Conducted Here
Dauris Emmett (Dusty) Rhoades, of Goldthwaite, died Thursday, April 3, at Childress Hospital.
Funeral services were held Friday, April 4, 1980, at 4:00 p/m/ in the Church of Christ, with Minister Roland Fry and Minister Harold Hunt officiating. Interment was in Goldthwaite Memorial Cemetery, under direction of Wilkins Funeral Home.
Mr. Rhoades was born May 25, 1917 in Coryell County. He married Cleo V. Reese on December 12, 1943, in Lampasas, Texas. They moved to Goldthwaite from Lampasas in October 1946. He was a member of the Church of Christ.
He was also a veteran of World War II, and had been an employee of Saylor Chevrolet and Geeslin Motors since October, 1946.
Survivors include his wife, Cleo; three daughters, Carolyn Tiemann of Priddy, Beverly Rhoades of Bryan, and Anita Jernigan of Goldthwaite; 4 grandchildren; his mother, Nellie Rhoades of Rumley, Texas; one brother, Don A. Rhoades of Izora, Texas; and a host of relatives and friends.
Pallbearers were Mark Geeslin, A. B. Yeager. Elam Miles, James Reese, Kent Geeslin, Doran Lemke, A. B. (Bit) Kelley.
Honorary pallbearers were, Sam Drew, John Warlick, Ken Fariss, W. L. Sides, E. C. Miller, Billie Whitt, and Emmett Miller.
