Olive Plant was a native of Massachusetts and was married there to the late Mr. Samuel Plant. They came to St. Louis on their bridal trip. Mr. Plant joined his brother, the late George P. Plant in the management of the flouring mills, and was identified with this business up to his death in 1866.

Mother of eight children, five of whom survived her. They are George H. and Alfred H. Plant, Mrs. George F. Meyer, Mrs. William Conrad and Mrs. J. G. Aderton, all of St. Louis.
