Born to Stephen and Malinda (Eggers) Anderson. Raised a large family with his wife, Frances Ann (Atkins) Anderson, worked construction and moved a great deal of the time in a covered wagon. Following the sudden death of Frances in March 1929, four of their children were placed into adoption and Lewey stayed with his eldest daughter and her family. He remarried later in life, but didn't have any more children.
