"Passed away April 11, 2012 at the age of 73.

"He was born in Wilmington, Delaware attended PS DuPont High School and received his Bachelor's degree in engineering from the University of Delaware. He came to California in 1961 to work in the Space Program at McDonnell Douglas. Fred earned his Master's degree at the University of Southern California, and worked on many significant projects at McDonnell Douglas and Boeing.

"He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Justine, his children, Mary, Karen, and Michael; grandchildren, Ryan, Allyson, Keyra, and Lucas; his sister, Virginia Gentile and niece Michele Deporter.

"Services will be held May 21st at Good Shepherd Cemetery in Huntington Beach at noon.

"In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to Mr. Gentile's favorite charity, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital."
