"Papa" (Lee) was born to Riley Thomas Lewis and Amanda Susan "Sue" Jarman Lewis (who married EB Hatch-- after Riley died), in Onslow County, NC. He had one brother, Riley Gardner Lewis. He worked in Bordon Manufacturing Company in Goldsboro, NC and Glenn Raven Cotton Mills in Kinston, NC. He was also an avid fisherman and hunter. He was married to Eunice Mae Padrick in approximately 1915 until her death July 3, 1954; he remarried Katie Wetherington Lewis around 1958. His children were Eunice Lewis; Christiana Lewis; Rosa Lee Lewis Moffitt; Mattie "Susan" Lewis; Mary Elizabeth "Toots" Lewis Ryan and husband Eddie; Katherine "Katie" Mae Lewis; Bryan Clifton Lewis, Sr. and wife Glennie Mae Manning Lewis; Whitley Lewis; Zealy M. "Marshgrass" Lewis, Sr.; Richard Kermit Lewis and Ralph Donald Lewis. Grandfather to: Edward L. Jr; William Earl; Clyde Cecil; Janie Elizabeth; BRYAN CLIFTON "ROCK" LEWIS, JR. , the late SHELBY JEAN LEWIS ; Barbara Ann; Linda Gail; Glenda Michelle; Zealy M.
