Robert L. ‘ Bob’ Tishhouse of Otsego, Michigan, went to be with his Lord on Thursday, September 1, 2011. Mr. Tishhouse was born January 18, 1927 in Otsego, MI to Leo and Mildred (Gibson) Tishhouse.

He had been a scout leader and most recently loved being the ‘Band-Aide’ for the River Cities Concert Band. He attended the Otsego Church of God. Bob enjoyed fishing, hunting, woodworking, doing jigsaw puzzles and was a Detroit Tigers fan. He was especially devoted to his family.

In Otsego on July 1, 1949 he married Betty Hill who survives. Also surviving are his children, Cathy Tishhouse of Metro Detroit and Stephen (Carrie) Tishhouse of Kalamazoo; son-in-law Keith Horton; grandchildren, Liz Evans, Jenni Evans, Stephanie (Rob) Grinage, Joshua (Emily) Tishhouse, Jarrod (Kendra) Tishhouse and Ellen Tishhouse; great grandson, Max Grinage; sister-in-law, Mary Tishhouse of CA; many nieces and nephews.

In keeping with his wishes, cremation has taken place. Friends may greet the family on Tuesday, September 6, 2011 at the Otsego Church of God from 10 A.M. until the time of the memorial service at 11A.M., with Pastor Stephen Burrow officiating. Military Honors will be conducted by V.F.W. Post #3030. Private burial of ashes will be at Mountain Home Cemetery in Otsego.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Bob may be made to The River Cities Concert Band or to the Otsego Church of God.

He had a sense of humor and the last words we heard him say sums it up. He said, “I just do it for the fun of it.”
