"Rosa" was born to RICHARD "LEE" LEWIS and EUNICE MAE PADRICK LEWIS on a cotton mill village in Kinston, NC. Aunt Rosa was one of my Dad's older sisters and a very sweet lady with jet black hair. She was first married to Wiley Herbert Proctor until his death. She was then the wife of Robert Mark Moffitt. She and Uncle Bob lived on highway 210 right before the river in Rocky Point there on the left. I remember my Mom rolling Aunt Rosa's hair in curlers while she was digging for something in her big black leather purse. She had a siamese cat name "Missy" who was the child she never had. I remember sitting in her long halway playing jacks with my sister. She made the best rice and I recall my Mom fussing that I wouldn't eat her rice, but I would eat Aunt Rosa's. She always kept treats for us and when we stayed with her, she gave us a little bottle coke and a cookie, (a treat we so treasured back in the late '60s!) She was married first to Oliver M. Davis on Jan 11, 1937, then to Wiley Herbert Procter, and lastly to the late Robert Mark Moffitt of Castle Hayne, NC on March 9, 1957. Her siblings were, EUNICE LEWIS ; CHRISTIANA LEWIS FOY ; ROSA LEE LEWIS MOFFITT ; MATTIE SUSAN LEWIS ; MARY ELIZABETH "TOOTS" LEWIS RYAN and husband Eddie; KATHERINE MAE LEWIS ; BRYAN CLIFTON LEWIS, SR. and wife GLENNIE M. MANNING LEWIS ; WHITLEY LEWIS ; ZEALY M. "MARSHGRASS" LEWIS, SR. and RICHARD KERMIT LEWIS and Ralph Donald Lewis. She is survived by 15 nieces and nephews; 18 great nieces and nephews and 1 great-great niece. I always wished Aunt Rosa had lived to meet my children because I know they would have thought her to be the greatest lady they'd ever known! Love you!

She is deeply missed!
