Fannie Ann Chervinka formerly of 1304 Rochester Ave., in Iowa City, died Wednesday, Oct. 4, 2006, in the Solon Nursing Care Center. She suffered from supranuclear palsy for nearly 10 years.

Services: 10 a.m. Monday at Lensing Funeral & Cremation Service in Iowa City, where visitation will be be from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday. Burial: Oakland Cemetery in Iowa City.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to Iowa City Hospice.

Fannie Ann was born Feb. 24, 1927 in Winterset, Iowa, the daughter of John Guy and Rella Breeding Schoenenberger. Raised in Winterset, she graduated from Winterset High School and attended the University of Iowa for one year. Moving to Iowa City in 1945, Fannie Ann married Frank J Chervinka Jr. on Aug. 2, 1946.

She was a cashier/bookkeeper for Benner Tea Co. from 1961-1976 and as an assistant manager for Aldi Foods in Iowa City from 1976 until retiring in 1978.

Fannie Ann was a member of First United Methodist Church in Iowa City and a volunteer at the Johnson County Senior Center.

Survivors include her children, Lavina (Ron) Cerny of Lone Tree, Rebecca (Ronald) Cooper of Tucson, Ariz., and William (Belinda) Chervinka of Bellevue, Neb.; brothers, Saul & Alice Schoenenberger of Sitka, Alaska and
Chester (Virginia) Schoenenberger of Winterset, Iowa; sister, Fern (Duane) Allison of Iowa City; 10 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Fannie Ann was preceded in death by her parents; her husband in 1997; brothers, James and Nicholas; a half brother, John Phillip; and a half sister, Helen Axlund.
