Karen Kay Duenas, 51, went to be with our Father on Saturday, May 5, 2012, in Cottonwood, California from injuries sustained in her home by an unknown intruder.
Karen was born Dec. 31, 1960, in Redding, California and was a lifelong area resident.
She worked as a college teacher, and also was in the Nursing Program at Shasta College.
Karen was a fixture at sporting events
throughout the Cottonwood area where her 5 sons were involved in sports for the last 18 years.
She could always be seen keeping the score book at the baseball and basketball games, cheering from the stands, and bringing her homemade chocolate chip cookies for the teams.
She is survived by her husband of 33 years, Mark ; sons Jason and wife Jenifer, Jacob and his wife Elisa, Tyler and his wife Tina, Troy, and Casey; 5 grandsons Caden, Kyle, Austin, Mason, and Mason; with one grandson and one granddaughter on the way; father, Hugh Tenney; four brothers, Ammon, Paul, Roger, and Joe Tenney ; two sisters, Julie Waters and Jennifer Regelin; 40 nieces and nephews; 34 great nieces and nephews; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
She is preceded in death by her mother Illene (Tobiason) Tenney; grandparents, Neils and Lalla Tobiason, Cleo and David Tenney.
Service was held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
Burial will be in the Lawncrest Cemetery in Redding and serving as pallbearers were her 5 sons and 4 brothers.
