COEYMANS -- Frederick Alberts died Sunday, February 15, 1998 at St. Peter's Hospital. He was 79. Fred was born in Feura Bush and had lived most of his life in Coeymans. He was an army veteran of WWII. Fred had worked as a car inspector for 40 years for Conrail in Selkirk, retiring in 1980. Fred was a member of the Coeymans Fire Co., past member of the Bethlehem Elk's Club and R-C Sportsmen Club. He was also a member of the Grace United Methodist Church in Ravena. Survivors include his wife Edith Vroman Alberts; his children, Darleen Westervelt of Coeymans, Shirley VanAlstyne of Selkirk, Frederick H. Alberts of Coeymans, Larry Alberts and Kim Sebert, both of Ravena; his brother, Alfred Alberts of Ravena; nine grandchildren; two great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his grandson, John VanAlstyne. Funeral services will be held 7:00 Wednesday evening, February 18, 1998 at the Babcock Funeral Home, 19 Pulver Avenue, Ravena. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday starting at 3.
