Funeral services for Ronald J. Perona, 22, of Owaneco will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 9, 2005, at the Taylorville High School baseball diamond, with Pastor Rodney Blomquist officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, July 8, in Sutton Memorial Home Chapel.

Mr. Perona died at 8:47 p.m. Saturday, July 2, in Stonington Township.

Ronald J. Perona, 22, of Owaneco died at 8:47 p.m. Saturday, July 2, 2005, in Stonington Township.

He was born September 16, 1982, in Springfield, the son of Ronald J. Sr. and Julie Bates Perona. He was an auto body repairman for Perona Auto Repair and a staff accountant for Kerber, Eck and Braeckel, LLP, of Springfield. He graduated from Taylorville High School. He attended Springfield College and graduated cum laude from Piedmont College, with a Bachelor's Degree in business management. He was a member of Chi Alpha Sigma Honor Society. He enjoyed baseball. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Taylorville.

Surviving are his parents of Owaneco; sister, April Perona of Taylorville; grandparents: John B. Perona, Lillian V. Greene and William and Wanda Bates, all of Taylorville; great-grandfather, Quinto Scopel of Taylorville; aunts and uncles: John (wife Tammy) Perona, Marianna (husband Mark) Podeschi, Anna (husband Greg) Sams, Lee Greene, Scott (wife Marty) Bates, all of Taylorville, Bill (wife Marilyn) Bates of Washington and Lisa (husband Bill) McGehee of Peoria; and several cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Patricia Bates; great-grandmother, Victoria Scopel; and step-grandfather, Robert Greene.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 9, at the Taylorville High School baseball diamond, with Pastor Rodney Blomquist officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.
