Lynn Elwin Boyd, 65, of Pricedale, died July 22, 2008, at his home. Visitation is 5 to 8 tonight at Hartman-Sharkey Funeral Home in McComb, and 1 p.m. Friday until services there at 2 p.m., with the Rev. Dick Root officiating. Burial will be in Enon cemetery.
Mr. Boyd was born Sept. 8, 1942, in Pricedale. He was the son of Lavern "Christmas" Boyd of Crossett, Ark., and formerly of the Enon community and the late Geneva Dunaway Boyd.
He was a retired oil field supervisor.
Mr. Boyd's family referred to him as a very kind hearted, gentle man that loved people. He was a very dedicated husband, father and grandfather. His favorite hobbies were racing hot rods and cooking, especially his specialty, barbecue.
Mr. Boyd was preceded in death by his mother; and one sister and brother-in-law, Anita Faye and Thad Pigott. Survivors include his father; his wife of 47 years, Cheryl Malone Boyd of Pricedale; two daughters and one son-in-law, Lisa and Robert Terry Causey and Kimberley Griffith, all of Pricedale; one son, Donald Elwin Boyd of Pricedale; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Susan and Craig Denton of Hondo, Texas, and Nancy and Buddy Seach of Crossett, Ark.; two grandchildren, Robert Causey and Leah Causey, both of Pricedale; his father-in-law, Melton Malone of Pricedale; one sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Gloria and Thomas Boyd of Pricedale; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Craig Denton, Donald Elwin Boyd, Jody Denton, Robert Terry Causey, Thomas Boyd and Donald Boyd.
