Mr. Joseph M. Jones died at his home in Cottondale Wednesday evening after a short illness. Although his health had not been good, he was able to be up until the death of his grandson, little Clarence Brown, Tuesday afternoon, when he laid down on his bed and lapsed into unconsciousness dying the following day. He was born and reared in Dodge County, and was 71 years old. He was a man of sterling qualities and a host of friends who are grieved at his passing.

Mr. Jones is survived by his wife and 14 children, the children being as follows: Mrs. G.W. Brown, Cordele; Mrs. E.H. Hutto, Plainfield; Mrs. J.G. Hughey, Macon; Mrs. M.M. May, Mrs. Jose Ramage, Mrs. Jack Loyd, Mrs. O.C. Brown, Miss Mamie Jones, S.D. Jones, I.J. JOnes, and J.M. Jones, Eastman, and J.C. Jones Milan.

Funeral services will be held at Cottondale Holiness Church Friday after, conducted by Rev. Willie Powell. Internment will be in Cottondale Cemetery.
