Mrs. Virginia Cromwell Malbon, 82, widow of Ryland James Malbon, died at the residence of her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Paul W. Ackiss, 53rd Street and Holly Road, Virginia Beach, yesterday at 4:05 p.m. after an illness of 10 days. She had been in failing health for several years.
A native of Norfolk County, Mrs. Malbon was a resident of Norfolk for 60 years prior to making the Beach her home 10 years ago.
She was a daughter of Frank Thomas and Mrs. Isabelle Phelps Cromwell.
She was a member of Epworth Methodist Church.
In addition to her daughter, Mrs. Ackiss, she is survived by two other daughters, Mrs. Bertram E. Twine, of Norfolk, and Mrs. Harry Payne White, of Culpeper; two sons Frank C. Malbon and Stanley C. Malbon, both of Norfolk; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, and a sister, Mrs. Ruth Macon, Los Angeles, Calif.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Ackiss residence tomorrow at 11 a.m., DST, by the Rev. Edmund Berkeley, rector of Galilee Episcopal Church. Burial in Cedar Grove Cemetery.
