SHAWVILLE - Homer E. Irvin, 81, of Shawville died Friday, March 31, 2000, at his residence.
Born June 13, 1918, in Croft, he was a son of Howard and Sarah (Bain) Irvin.
Mr. Irvin retired in 1983 from Edmond Contracting after many years of service. He was a member of the Christian and Missionary Church, Wolf Run, Clearfield.
On Oct. 18, 1941, in Croft, he wed the former Vivian Stiner, who survives.
In addition, he is survived by nine children, Howard Irvin, Dolores Stimpson, Tom Irvin and John Irvin, all of Frenchville, Joe Irvin of Georgian, July Owens of LeContes Mills, Sarah Amon of Shawville, Ron Irvin of Croft and Jeff Irvin of Woodland.
Also surviving are 30 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and three sisters, Hester Belle Smith of Clearfield, Lois Plubell of Frenchville and Janice Dixon of Pleasant Valley; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, James Irvin.
Services were held this morning at Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield, with Rev. Robert N. Grime officiating.
Interment followed in the Eden Cemetery, Shawville RD.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Clearfield Foundation for Health-Hospice, P.O. Box 992, Clearfield.
