Grandpa was best known as Smith Grindle. He is named after his grandfather and grandmother. However, he signed the Hutchinson surname as Hutcherson which then carried down to his son.
He worked as a Cement Finisher; was considered one of the very best and was sought after by many. It has been found that he was one who helped build the wall that surrounds the Vigo County Court House.
