Son of John Harley Bowman Sr (1858-1902) and Minnie Viola Bailey (1862-1952); married to Tryphenia Daisie Jennings Bowman (1894-1986), M: 29 July 1914 in Los Angeles, CA. Two sons: Harley John Bowman (1915-2008) & Milton Heman Bowman (1918-1967); Discharged from the World War I US Army on 17 Feb 1917. Family moved in the mid-1930's from Glendale, California and established a homestead on 40 acres that included the building of a two story log cabin in the Shoestring Valley, 15 miles east of Yoncalla, Douglas County, Oregon. John & Daisy moved back to Ontario, California in 1956 after John had a series of small strokes that prevented him from continuing as a concrete mason and general carpenter in the Yoncalla, Oregon area.
