James Crowe was born in County Clare**, Ireland on March 8th 1831, He is the son of George and Catherine Crowe. He married Mary "Maria" McMahan on April 27th 1857 in Lawrence County, Ohio (marriage information is listed below. In the 1870 Federal Census (also listed below) he and his family lived in Cynthiana, Harrison County, Kentucky. Their children listed on the Census are Peter Crow, John Crow, Michael Crow, James Crow, Mary Crow, Catharine Crow, Daniel Crow, and Patrick Crow. In the 1880 Federal Census (also listed below) he and his family lived in Upper Blue Lick, Nicholas County, Kentucky. Their children listed on the Census are Peter Crow, Jack Crow, Mike Crow, James Crow, Mary Crow, Katy Crow, Daniel Crow, and Pat Crow. Sadly Mr James Crowe died in July 1899 in Nicholas County, Kentucky and was laid to rest in Paris, Bourbon County, Kentucky by his wife's side, that had proceeded him to the grave, in the Mount Olivet Cemetery.
