WOODLAND — Francis F. "Mutt" Forcey, 86, of Woodland RD died Sunday,Feb. 24, 2008, at Clearfield Hospital.

Born Oct. 16, 1921, he was the son of Maxwell Waite and Margaret (Graham) Forcey.

He had retired from Forcey Lumber Co. and was a member of the Dales United Methodist Church, where he was active for many years in leadership and teaching Sunday school.

He was a 1941 graduate of Clearfield High School.

He was a member of the Clearfield Wrestling Club. He had a great love for wrestling. A few of his accomplishments were a 1941 PIAA State Wrestling Champ for Clearfield High School and a 1949 Clearfield YMCA Junior National AAU Champ at 155 pounds.

He continued to follow the wins and losses of the Clearfield High School and other surrounding area wrestling teams over the years as they advanced to states, never forgetting a name.

He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth "Jean" (Greene)Forcey, whom he wed Dec. 28, 1946; a daughter, Janet Allison and her husband, Bruce, of Harmony; four grandchildren, Matthew Forcey and Christopher Forcey, both of Rialto, Calif., Kiley Librich and her husband, Frank, of Cranberry Township and Heather Sharek and her husband, Jeremy, of Harmony.

Also surviving is a brother, L. D wight Forcey and his wife, Kitty, of Clearfield; a sister, Eleanor Moore of Warriors Mark; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Edward Matthew Forcey; and three brothers, Maxwell, Paul and James Forcey.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 1, at 11 a.m. at Dales United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Thomas C. Lenker officiating. Interment will be at Dales Cemetery.

Friends will be received Friday, Feb. 29, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at The Bennett and Houser Funeral Home Inc., Clearfield.

The family suggests that contributions be made to the Arthur J. Weiss Scholarship Fund, in care of Peggy Durant, 216 S. Front St., Clearfield, PA 16830; or to the charity of the donor's choice.
