"Mary S. Chapman was born at Harrisburg, New York, February 23, 1846. She died at Daysland, Alberta Canada and her burial was at Lang Saskatchewan. Her husband, Dr. Chapman, a veterinarian, died in Florida in 1901.

She married August 3, 1872 to M. V. B. Chapman at Angola, Indiana. They were parents of seven children, six of whom survive her. She also had three step sons.
