WALDOBORO – Keith V. Gould, 77, unexpectedly passed away Friday, May 18, 2012, less than six weeks after his wife Vinnie, who died April 10. He was born Oct. 6, 1934, on Beals Island, the second son of Thurman and Ivy Gould.

He was a graduate of Jonesport High School, class of 1952, and went on to receive his bachelor's degree from the University of Maine, and later earned his master's degree from UMO as well. In 1955 he married the love of his life, Irvinia "Vinnie" Porter. Keith taught for 35 years in area schools, and spent the last years of teaching in South Bristol. He especially enjoyed coaching basketball there, and his school team won its first tournament under his direction.After 35 years, he and Vinnie retired together and traveled extensively throughout Europe.
They visited all 50 of the United States, with the exception of Alaska.
Keith is survived by his son, Randy Gould and his wife, Sherri, of Corinna; two granddaughters, Jessica Gould Melcher and her husband, Joe, of Portland and Kirsten Gould of Bangor; a grandson, Taylor Gould of Boston; brothers, Thurman Gould Jr. and his wife, Margret, of Titusville, Fla., and George Gould and his wife, Denise, of Waldoboro; and a sister, LaVonne Beal of Friendship.

Interment will be at Brookland Cemetery, Waldoboro. (Bangor Daily News 5/21/2012)
