Mrs. Walker was born at Brookfield, Vt., February 20, 1823. At the age ten she moved with her parents to Walworth county, Wisconsin, where she resided until her marriage to J. H. Walker in 1851 when she moved to Chicago, The past five years she had made her home with her daughter, Mrs. Rettenmayer, in this city.
Mrs. Walker was a very patient sufferer and bore her afflictions without murmuring. She always had a kind word for her children and those in attendance; and while she has lived her allotted time, being 84 years, 7 months and 14 days old at the time of her death, she will be missed very much. She leaves three children, two sons, C.P. And A.H. Walker of Paton Iowa, and one daughter; Mrs. C.O. Rettenmayer, besides a host of friends to mourn her loss. Two daughters died several years ago.

The funeral services were held from the Rettenmayer residence Sunday morning, Rev. Shuman, of the Congregational church, officiating, the remains were laid to rest in the Arcadia cemetery, loving friends attending the body to its last resting place, mournfully paying a farewell tribute to the departed on beloved of them all.
She had early united with the Episcopal church and held firm in the faith through life. She had lived as a true christian and has now gone to her reward.
